Flatboats and wagons brought the early settlers into the area we now call Indian Hill. First came farmers and millers, who were followed by merchants, schoolteachers, and ministers. This page will introduce you to some of the individuals and families that helped form the history of the Village.

- James Rheinstrom: Donor of Rheinstrom Park – Manufacturer, horseman, popular host
- John Elliott – Pioneer farmer, miller, merchant, builder of Elliott House (c.1800)
- Nathaniel Shepard Armstrong– Pioneer miller, founder of Armstrong Chapel (1831)
